Has anybody got any?
Sorry, I’m having a bit of a moment :S want to reassure myself that it will be useful apart from it being my favourite subject.
They will be French and Arabic by the way.

Revision for tomorrows French exam, please make duaa for me, I need an A in order to get into uni. JazakAllah khairun
Gunna spend the rest of the day with my tatty grammar book. French exam on Tuesday morning and then after that in sha Allah I shall be freeee!
So I think it went ok al7amdolellah, it’s hard to tell! The examiner asked me about weird things, we started with the debate about the burqa ban in France as expected and then we moved onto other topics. The first was about women and equality, but then he asked me about whether I trusted the British legal system which is not something I have thought a lot about, whether prison is the best solution, if health and safety has gone too extreme. It wasn’t the route I was expecting to be taken down :s I managed to get in different tenses and structures but a couple of my verbs were dodgy. Now I just have to wait until August for my results and start focusing on Italian….
It’s called Gazelle and is targeted at the “North-African woman” and therefore has a lot of Islamic themes throughout. I was in France during August and therefore the magazine I bought was a special Ramadan edition.

It contained articles such as this one:
“Le Ramadan des converties” (A convert’s Ramadan)

I’m thinking about trying to get this delivered if possible, I don’t know of any magazines for Muslims in the UK although I’m sure they must exist. So if you’re in France/speak French and are Muslim, this might be something that interests you :)
Me speaking in French…please excuse my mistakes (of which there are a few!)

During the Summer I read a novel in French for the first time, I remember trying to a couple of years ago and it being too difficult but this time I got through it and was able to understand! There was some vocab here and there that I didn’t know, especially the colloquial language, but I was pleasantly surprised at my ability to read it! Alhamdolellah! It is one of my dreams in life to become fluent in another language inshAllah. I think I’m going to take this experience and continue it and keep reading French novels and that will in turn improve my language further inshAllah.
I love the fact that there are a large number of Arab people and influences in France because it means I can combine my French and Arab interests! Such as in this book, where the main character is Doria, living in France but the daughter of Moroccon immigrants.
