Aish de Terre.: Privilege.  →
aish-de-terre: I’ve seen this new phenomena circulating the interweb recently: privilege. It’s mainly white privilege or man privilege I hear of. Or white woman privilege in some extreme cases. But I gotta say, really? Since when does fighting for equality qualify as an excuse to dilute the pain of injustice…

A new hobby?
So I think I just got into craft? My sister customised a tshirt earlier which looked really cool and ever since then I’ve had this urge to make something. I’ve never really been good at arty/creative things so this has never been an area I’ve delved much into but I really like the idea of being able to make my own skirts, dresses etc. I think this stems from my desire to be an...

Training my body for Ramadan
I’ve been trying this new thing where I don’t eat or drink at the first pang of hunger or thirst. That way in sha Allah I am getting on top of my nafs and desires and my body gets used to not always receiving food or drink when it wants it. I thought this might be useful for Ramadan preparation. In sha Allah I’ll be doing this more and more in the following days.

It really isn’t hard for me to envisage that the time between now and me potentially going to uni is going to be spent alone, sat in my house. I want to enjoy my free time and go out and do a few things but I’ve got nobody to do anything with. My one remaining friend here is always busy with work and on her days off she wants to “lie in”. I asked about going to London and...

I just finished watching a documentary in which a BNP politician stated that “multicultural society promotes racism” that’s coming from a man who wants a white, “British” community…wow logical huh? Can we please try and show these people through smiles and good character that Islam isn’t the scary, invading thing that they make it out to be?

#74.
thehalalwayoflife: The difference between the Companions (R.A.) and the muslim ummah today boils down to two defining factors. 1. The Companions only strived for Jannah, while we also strive for Jannah 2. The Companions would do something because it is from the Sunnah, while we leave something because it is from the Sunnah, and not the Fardh.
